It is still in alpha stage and I haven't tested it till date but would love to. I just downloaded it and will give you a detailed report once I feel that I had a good feel of this brand new browser from Opera.

What do you know about Vaastu Shastra???
Vaastu Shastra is a Sanskrit language term combining the words Vaastu, meaning a dwelling or work place, and Shastra, which means a system of science or art. Vaastu Shastra is an ancient Indian architectural science that evolved some 5000 years ago with roots in the sacred Vedic texts. Its principles of building planning and construction seek to bring about an ideal and harmonious balance between humans and the environment.
Vaastu Shastra considers the earth as a living entity from which other living beings spring forth. What makes this possible on our planet is the presence of the Five Elements (Panchmahabhuutas) - Space/Sky (Aakash/Ananta), Air (Vaayu), Fire (Agni), Water (Jala), and Earth (Bhumi). To bring about its aimed-for balance, Vaastu Shastra coordinates these Five Elements with Cosmic Energies and human activities.
The basic rules of Vastu Shastra are based on the eight directions -
Four principle directions:
North (Uttara, ruled by Lord Kuber, God of Wealth)
South (Dakshina, ruled by Lord Yama, God of Death)
East (Purva, ruled by Lord Indra, King of Gods, and Lord Aditya/Surya, God of Sun/Energy)
West (Pashcima, ruled by Lord Varun, God of Rain/Water)
Four secondary directions:
East-North (Ishanya, ruled by Lord Ishanya, God of All Quarters)
North-West (Vayavya, ruled by Lord Vayu, God of Winds)
South-West (Nairutya, ruled by Pitru or Ancestors)
South-East (Agneya, ruled by Lord Agni, God of Fire)
Of these, the East and North are considered the most auspicious.

Virus attack by anti-virus ads, Stay Cool...
What will you do when your browser shows a pop-up which says your system is affected by virus and you should run anti-virus check? This is a kind of ads-spread virus. I take the credit for giving the name ads-spread and even the word corporate-spread. This virus just installs some adtracker in your system and keeps on nagging you to do system check. You can't use your browser and you can't access your files as well. This is strictly for Windows operating system.
I had this attack twice and I fell flat on my stomach but could do nothing but reinstall the complete OS, which by all means is a very bad habbit. But now I guess I know what to do. Just recently a computer in my house has been attacked by similar virus and I was worried what would happen to this. But there was this guy who I guess saved the day for me. When I saw and learnt what he did, I felt bad for myself. I was thrashing myself for not getting such a simple thought.
What he did was he shut down the computer, but before shutting down he turned the wireless internet connection off and then he navigated to the "temporary internet files" folder from the run command and deleted the files in it. I thought why through the run command, pat came the answer, because what ever folders you access you might be affecting those folders as well. Okay now all set I shut down the computer and restarted it. I repeat shut down not restart. Hope the virus doesn't come back again...

Oldest .com registered websites...
Here is a list of the oldest registered .com, .net, .org and .edu websites. I found it from the digg.com website and thought to share with you. This list contains some of the leading software gaints like hp, ibm and att. It was good to find that most of the top schools in U.S. are in the list for registering their domain as .edu.
Just have a look at the list, it isn't that great to look at nor it is that appealing but it is still history to relish. Here is the link:: Click Here

Tired of Internet Explorer, just kill it in Windows 7...
You have been using the Internet Explorer from ages and most of us are tired of the browser. But untill Windows 7, we never had an option to uninstall the IE6 from our Windows Systems. You have to live with it, says Microsoft. Even when security issues have cropped up, even when your computer completely hangs up, even when you are under a virus attack and you know that IE is the culprit, you can't uninstall it but had to cry for yourself.
But at last, after ages together, Microsoft has come out of their shell, and heard the cries of the mere souls on earth and gave an option to uninstall Internet Explorer 8 from Windows 7, their latest Operating System. Windows is so desperate for the success of Win 7, that they may even offer free Win 7 to the customers who buy computers with Vista installed in them.

Where's the tax money...
Every nation, every state and every district collects tax from their residents. How do they collect, I mean in which way? In every possible way is my answer. From the purchases you make to the items you sell. From the salary you earn to the money you pay to daily labor. From the transport you take to work to the gas you fill in your vehicle. In every financial matter you are involved in, you are paying tax in some form or other. But where is all this going.
Tax is defined by some intelligent guy as "Enforced charge extracted of persons, corporations and organizations by the government to be used to support government services and programs". But how good is it working when it comes to helping the public when they are in real need. I say literally very little help. The tax was introduced to help the government to help the people who are paying it.
But with the big-heads involved, by big-heads I mean corporate gaints, the tax money is going into the pockets of a few rich guys, who by any reason doesn't need that. The involvment of corporate heads in the government, or more like the corporate people controlling the proceedings of the government have led to this mis-use of tax money. This should be stopped but who will take the initiative.
I say the tax-payers should take the initiative, when their hard earned pennies are collected in the form of tax till they dry up paying all the taxes, why shouln't they have the right to know where their taxes are going. The tax-payers should ask the government the reason for paying the corporates so much money that they really not deserve. They should ask the government why the money is not being spent on basic amenities like food, water and shelter.
This change cannot be achieved in a day but still it will work perfectly. When the governing body becomes answerable then the fraud gets to it's knees, the money will be spent in the right way and even in the recession periods there will not be any problem to the common public. Just think about it. As some elderly said, "If I can change the thought of a single man by my writings in a positive way, that would bring me satisfaction, as if I ate a Chicken Biryani with Mutton Kurma", Just Kiddin...

2 mins to make, 10 mins to relish...
Have you ever had the taste of Maggi noodles, in fact any noodles? This is one of my favorites when it comes to eating and will be up there when it comes to cooking. It is so easy to make that it takes just 2 mins for its preparation and this thing has been the slogan for them for decades and guess what it will be the slogan for decades to come as well.
There are a lot of preparations you could make with the noodles. You can add carrots and peas and make some veggie noodles or spice it up with some chicken pieces and egg and make some chicken or egg soft noodles. I used to prepare and eat noodles every other day when I used to live with my friends. It was more like a tradition for me. In fact it has saved me from starving to death. Hence this is a thank you post to Maggi for helping me out in the crisis period...
Why am I writing all this today? Because today morning I had some noodles made by my sister and they were so good that they reminded me of those good old days, so I just wanted to share with you....

The Shawshank Redemption - My View...
Fear can hold you prisoner. Hope can set you free.
This is how the movie can be described aptly in two lines. But the movie has got more than that. The movie is about a banker who is imprisoned for murdering his wife and her lover. But did he really commit the crime? Is his imprisonment justified? What he does in the prison? These all constitute the movie.
Morgan Freeman acts and narrates the most part of the movie. He is like the main pillar for this movie, where all the weight lies. And guess what he is the only person I knew in this movie. More than 90% of the movie is picturized in a prison. The male pratogonist has got a dream role to play and he does his part to near perfection.
The scenes I liked::
- The letter writing by our hero to get funds for the prison library.
- The way he uses the rock hammer.
- Cruelty of the prison warden.
- (spoiler) The escape plan.
The scenes where I felt bad::
- When the new prisoner who passes some test gets killed by the warden.
- When the released prisoner hangs himself.
Overall I learnt from this movie, that Life hits you so hard that it brings you to your knees. But don't loose your heart, because everyone will have a talent in them which if put to a better use could fetch you success and that too in a pretty big way. Just never loose hope, the word is Hope...

Why should we blog????
Why should anyone blog? Is blogging a fashion, is this a trend, is blogging done just to impress your girlfriend or to make others around you look stupid. None of the above is my answer. Why I started blogging? I clearly don't remember but I surely can say that it was my evergrowing curiosity to know what's new. This curiosity of mine has pushed me, rather dragged me into this trade.
Firstly, it was like a hobby for me to write some stupid things in my blog, then entered the new softwares that I used. I even blogged about politics, sports and stuff like that. But in the initial days, I did not take it seriously. But once my audience increased I started blogging on different issues and most of the time the words in the blog came from my heart rather than my mind. But I never thought this to be a fashion, trend or something like that. That's the main reason that I did not tell to anyone about my blog unless asked by them. A very few people know about my blog till date. But let me tell you, who ever knew my blog, they know one thing that there is no unrelevant hatred, questionable voilence, unreasonable use of filthy language.
But these days when I visit some blogs, they are either solely maintained for money or just as a fashion statement. I rarely find genuine blogs except for a few, where the blogger keeps his heart out when he writes something and you can very rarely find an objection in the blogs. But actually why should we blog?
Blogging brings out the inner self in you. You might want to show your anger on some issue, you might want to write what you like about a movie, or you might want to show your feelings on some issue but can't say that publicly. Here is a solution, the blogs help you vent out your anger, spread your love and show your feelings to the entire world. One final word, blog more not to hog the limelight but to flag off your inner feelings and race towards the eternal truth "Living Life King-Size"...
Download Vista SP2 RC now...
Microsoft has released the service packs for both Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008. But let me remind you that these are not the final versions but release candidates. So you can expect the final candidates somewhere by the end of the month or in a month or two. But the question here is what is new in these releases?
Nothing new is injected into the Operating System, nor there is any good news to the end users. I feel it is just a try in vain to show that Vista is still alive and the guys in Richmond haven't left Vista behind. There are just some hot fixes and security updates which are not that critical yet but could come handy sometime in the near future.

Want to marry a celebrity Look-alike...
Everyone dreams to marry a celebrity, a fewest have the luck to marry them, a fewer have the option of being a friend or lover to them. But a lot miss out on the luck. For those who dreamt of marrying a celebrity but couldn't make it, don't loose your heart. Bharath Matrimony comes as a dream come true for you.
They have introduced this new technology, Facial Search, through which you can choose your future life partner from a list of celebrity look alikes. You can just select your favorite celebrities and then find the person or more like a look alike and then you can contact the particular person.
Out of curiosity I searched for someone looking like Aishwarya Rai, and guess what not one girl had the looks of Ash. Leave aside Ash, I don't know what the matrimonial site want to prove by this software, but I say, as of now it will just be another publicity stunt.
Firefox updates to 3.07...
In the wake of updates from Opera, Firefox followed pretty soon with a latest update in the form of version 3.07. There is nothing new in the User Interface, just the usual bug fixes and the stability issues. If you are one of those fans of Firefox get these update as soon as possible otherwise you might be at risk. But don't you think this browser is a little overrated, seriously guys, there isn't that aura this browser carried a few years ago.
Want to win an Xbox 360...
Here is a small survey from Digital Inspiration website, which in the first place is free to take and it offers you to enter into a lucky draw, where you could become a lucky owner of a brand new Xbox 360 Elite(120 GB hard drive). This Xbox is priced around $400.
This is one of my favorite sites, and the reason that I like this site comes from the fact that it is maintained by an Indian and the content here is completely original, unlike me.The survey took me around 5-7 minutes, which I think isn't that a big waste of time. Why don't you just give out a try...

Google reversed or is it...
Ever thought how the Google Search Web Page would look when it is reversed. It is really brainless and completely time wasting, but it involves the work of a genius to pull out something like this. Ofcourse it is no good in stoping the terror*sm which is being encouraged by the country of Pakistan , but it sure can waste 10 mins of mine and 2 mins of all those who read this article...

Opera upgrades to 9.64...
The less-famous, ill-treated, low-graded web browser Opera has released a new update to it's existing Opera version of 9.63 and made it 9.64. What's the difference did this upgrade brought with it's arrival? Nothing much to the UI but it brought with it some security updates and patches and stability.
The stability has been the key issue with Opera, I don't know when they are going to treat this disease. This stability issue has kept Opera away from hogging the limelight. But trust me this is one hell of a browser with lightening speed browsing and cool UI. I would rate this higher than any other browser in the market right now, except for some issues with the security and stability.

Stop Terrorism, Spread Humanism...
I just saw the news that some terror*sts have attacked the SriLankan cricketers in Pakistan. I just asked the question WHY? What wrong have they done? They are mere sportsmen. They went to Pakistan to provide some entertainment to the sports lovers. I really condemn this but I am angry with myself that I am unable to do anything against such attacks.
I want to blame Pakistan for these attacks, but it would be unfair if I do that. It may be provoking terror*sm, but are the Pakistanis so heartless, that they attack the sportsmen who are sent there to develop some peaceful environment. What will happen to their careers? What will happen to the future of Pakistan cricket in particular and Pakistan as a country in general. If they couldn't provide security to a visiting team, just imagine how bad is the security of common people in Pakistan.
My heart is with the SriLankan players who are injured and the security personnal who are killed in this attack. May their souls rest in peace. I wish the injured SriLankan players get well soon and return to their normal cricketing form as soon as possible....

Iphone ruling the mobile Web...
Apple Iphone has set up another benchmark, in which it has occupied a share of nearly 66.61% of Mobile web. It has surpassed all other mobile web users and that too with a huge difference. Talking about its nearest competitor, the windows Mobile is 9 times lesser when it comes to using the web from your mobile phone...
I wasn't that much of a fanboy of Iphone but these days I could get my hands onto some of the apps in Iphone and I felt it is worth the 200 bucks that you spend on an Iphone...

Traitor Movie - My View...
When I started watching this movie, I wasn't much interested in this movie, the reason being I haven't heard much about it before. The movie doesn't have huge starcast is the other reason which kept me away from the movie. If not for one of my brother, I would never have watched this movie. Okay after all the reasons why I watched the movie, let me tell you how I felt after watching the movie.
I was so dissapointed after the completion of the movie, that I didn't even speak much about it. Usually when I watch a new movie, I brag a lot about it. But this did not happen after this movie. I started watching the movie with no expectations, except a few action episodes. The first scene in the prison caught my eye and I was involved in the movie making a lot of false predictions of the plot and in turn disturbing others who are watching the movie.
The movie starts with the right momentum as if in Bourne Series but falls flat when it comes to the climax. The protagonist Samir(Don Cheadle), was good with his acting skills but I felt it was not his cake and he shouldn't have cut it with a terror*st backdrop.
Things I liked::
- The dialogue in the prison from one of the terror*sts, which goes something like this "How many are ready to die for you".
- The plight of Samir in trying to save the kid from becoming a suicide bomber.
- The idea of Samir in attracting the attention of the cops when in Chicago.
Things I hated::
- Using the fear of terror*sm in the US as an investment.
- Not so attractive screen presence of the male protagonist. There was almost zero energy in this character.
- The plot was subdued not just by the story but as well by the characters.
- There was no thrill in watching a few characters talking endlessly.
- One more thing is that there is literally zero action in this action thriller.
By the way I forgot to tell you the name of the movie, it is Traitor and trust me it is a real traitor.
My Rating:: 1.5/5

Gmail now you have problems with Opera...
This morning when I opened my Gmail account in Opera, I found this weird page in my browser. There was no regular Gmail webpage. I thought Gmail might be dead again. But it wasn't the case, since it worked fine in my firefox. So I came to the conclusion that Gmail is having an issue with Opera, hope it gets resolved pretty soon...

A small Satire...
1. The Wall Street Journal is read by the people who run the country.
2. The New York Times is read by people who think they run the country.
3. The Washington Post is read by people who think they should run the country.
4. USA Today is read by people who think they ought to run the country but don't really understand the Washington Post. They do, however like the smog statistics shown in pie charts.
5. The Los Angeles Times is read by people who wouldn't mind running the country, if they could spare the time, and if they didn't have to leave L.A. to do it.
6. The Boston Globe is read by people whose parents used to run the country.
7. The New York Daily News is read by people who aren't too sure who's running the country, and don't really care as long as they can get a seat on the train.
8. The New York Post is read by people who don't care who's running the country either, as long as they do something really scandalous, preferably while intoxicated.
9. The San Francisco Chronicle is read by people who aren't sure there is a country, or that anyone is running it; but whoever it is, they oppose all that they stand for. There are occasional exceptions if the leaders are handicapped minority, feministic atheist dwarfs, who also happen to be illegal aliens from ANY country or galaxy as long as they are democrats.
10. The Miami Herald is read by people who are running another country, but need the baseball scores.

My new desktop...
This is my new desktop with the usual rainlendar calendar. But the wallpaper is new one which I picked from one of the desktops featured on LifeHacker. The photo of Aishwarya Rai is more like pinned onto the desktop using a slideshow program called DeskPhoto.
One more thing that I have done to this desktop is that I created a new folder and when I dragged it towards the right side of the desktop, it has opened up something like a bar and it is showing out all the files inside the folder. This I found little handy as it hides all the crap away from my desktop but still gives me an option to easily access the files.

These are the pics from one of my brother's party. Just look at the Biryani and the decoration it has got. They I guess, must have had the time of their lives. My brother is one lucky guy. He has got such a good company.

What is Cloud Computing...
The concept incorporates software as a service (SaaS), Web 2.0 and other recent, well-known technology trends, in which the common theme is reliance on the Internet for satisfying the computing needs of the users. Often-quoted examples are Salesforce.com and Google Apps which provide common business applications online that are accessed from a web browser, while the software and data are stored on the servers.
Gmail adds attachment upload progress bar...
Whenever I had to make an attachment in Gmail, I used to worry whether the process is going on smoothly or not. This was because there wasn't any progress bar which shouts for you that the attachment is being uploaded to Google servers. But now the almighty has listened and added a new progress bar which shows the status of your upload or attachment. This is a good step by google which takes the worry out of some of us mere souls....
Once again Hail Google...

Win 7 to arrive in Late Sep or Oct...
There is this grand news that Windows 7 is going to be released late Sep or Early October. This is very good news for guys like me who is a fanatic of this yet to be refined Operating System from Windows. I have already used the beta version of Win 7 and have felt the heat in it. It was one cool ride with the OS consuming pretty less system resources compared to its predecessor.
Amelia Agrawal, a spokeswoman for Microsoft, maintains the official company position that Windows 7 will be available within three years of when Vista shipped. The news would corroborate word of an April release candidate that would let Microsoft finish, manufacture and deliver Windows 7 well ahead of the holidays.

Welcome to the new author Auro...
Plz welcome the new author Aurobind Enugala. He is a close friend of mine who has agreed to post on my blog, just on my request. He is the guy who has introduced me to the true face of internet and made Google my dear friend. His posts will be a new addition and strength to my blog. Hope he likes his stay here...
Funny but serious facts about economy...
Today morning I was watching CNN and there was this conversation, that took place between the presenter and a reporter. They were talking about the downfall of shares in the US market. They took the digg at some big companies such as GM, Citi group....
It was really funny to see the no.'s.
Price for a spark plug : $3.79 Share value of GM : $2.22
User charge at atm : $ 3 Share value of Citi : $2.6
Cost of a GE Phone : $ 17.99 Share value of GE : $9.08
These figures were quoted by the news team, in a rather funny way. They were playing a guessing game with these numbers. But when you look at the big picture, what you see is how many families, how many individuals are suffering by the stock market slump. How many have lost their hard earned money by investing in the stock market. Is there a way to restock their money. Is there an end to this downfall in the coming months. Only the almighty can answer this question...
Funny Vista copying...
What if your GPS shows that it takes 365 days to travel a distance of 10 miles, what if your weighing machines shows your weight as 786 lbs, what if your windows os boots up after 7 days, you feel some pain some where which I can't explain here because of sensoring.
Have a look at the pic above where a Vista operating system shows that it needs 46368 days and 5 hours to copy a glorious 1.45 gb of data. Mr. Bill Gates what do you think are you doing in Richmond. Why did you throw this shit at us. Don't you think we deserve something better like XP. I am a hardcore hater of Vista and every other day something like this pops up from nowhere and the Vista rankings in my book droop down...

Why AVG Anti-Virus...
The anti-virus software which is ruling the roost is AVG anti-virus. The anti-virus industry is one place where you need to be really a good player otherwise you will be kicked into abysmal. In such a industry if one software can stand tall above all those big players, what right could this software be doing?
First of all, AVG is a free software, which means you need not spend your hard earned money just to protect yourself from some bl**dy hacker. AVG is the only antivirus which gives frequent updates even though it earns nothing directly by the sale of its software. You never get any panic calls from AVG users unlike other anti-virus users, who keep crying foul about their anti-virus softwares.
Next, the user interface of AVG is so good, that even a novice can operate it with his eyes wide shut. You don't need to manually update or you don't need to renew your out-of-date software. You can just sit back and enjoy the ride.
I was one of those loyal fans of Norton anti-virus, but I used to have virus attack once every full-moon. This made me annoyed, disgusted and you know what disgruntled as well. And then came the saviour in the form of AVG. Use it to, believe the difference...

Apple mimicing Chrome...
Apple has released the all new Safari 4 Beta for Windows and Mac. I just downloaded it and the striking feature from this is the 'Top Sites' thing. This feature has been grinded and muddled in both Chrome and Opera. But still Apple is banking on this feature for their new release Safari 4 Beta.
The look and feel was just like the Chrome with the menu items on the right top of the browser and the page loading was more or less like Opera. But this definitely is not one of them when it comes to the bookmarking stuff. There is the usual personal or bookmarks bar, the rendering engine, etc...
One more eye-catching feature is that of the 'Cover Flow' where you can flip through your site history or bookmarks. But this feature isn't that great, since you don't go to bookmarks to see what that bookmark is or what we are doing with that. The tabs are also taken to the top, which I feel is an unnecessary thing.

The Media Player wars...
It's the war between two of the best user-friendly media players available out in the market for Windows users. But who is the winner. Who has been at the recieving end. The two media players in question are VLC player and the GOM media player.
The media player which has had a great run is VLC from the past 2 years. But here comes competition. Now enters GOM with its cusomisable shortcuts and easy to understand interface and starts grabbing all the market which was once VLC's playground. But which one is truly good. I felt in my opinion that VLC scores over GOM when it comes to startup but customizing VLC is a tidious task. GOM is a bit slow when it comes to startup but it runs smoothly after that.
I never had a real problem with any of these two but I go with GOM, and the only reason being its user interface. One more thing that puts GOM on the top is it's appearance. It has the look of a big screen in a theatre or something else like that. Unlike VLC, GOM has good user base who are loyal not just by ignorance but by choice...

Slumdog sweeps the Oscars...
Here's the list of winners of the 81st Annual Academy Awards, with the Slumdog sweeping almost in all the categories it has been nominated for. Slumdog Millionaire has won a total of 8 awards.
Hail Rahman.
A.R. Rahman has won both Oscars for which he has been nominated for. More than the awards he gave a scintillating performance which dominated the performance of his competitor from the movie Wall-E. I watched the awards ceremony with my heart pounding and was literally shouting at the top of my voice when Rahman won both the awards. I feel proud with my chest bulging out. I am proud to be an Indian once again.
